I have a 17 year old son with high-functioning Asperger's. Has anyone heard anything or had an experience with a group called "Brain Balance" http://www.brainbalancecenters.com/. If so, I'd love to hear honest accounts of your experiences with them and your impressions.
thanks!! ! |

Has anyone read: "Asperger's Syndrome Guide for TEENS & YOUNG ADULTS Thriving (not Just Surviving)" by Craig Kendall? It sounds great on his website http://www.aspergerssociety.org/ but I can't find any reviews to substantiate for me.
Any thoughts?? thanks!! |

| My 16 1/2 year old son has been diagnosed with Asperger's, to the surprise of everyone around him (except his family). He is an A/B student and has never received accommodations at school. With the exception of being a little quirky at times, he give the appearance of being just like the rest of his... |

| My 8th grade AS son (just recently diagnosed with high-functioning Asperger's) is making good grades in school, but trying to keep up with homework and projects is overwhelming him. I think sitting in class listening to lectures for 7 hours a day is taking all of his energy. I know it will get worse... |

| Our 14 y/o son was diagnosed with ADHD in 2003. He was diagnosed with dyslexia in 2006. He took Strattera x 3 years (taking 100 mg/ day) and we never really saw any improvement in symptoms. We then tried Adderall (30 mg/day) and have stopped that as well for the same reason. We are scheduled to have... |

| Hello, I suspect that my 14 y/o son has Asperger's. My question is two-fold: 1. What is the advantage to getting an official/professional diagnosis? and 2. Does anyone know of any specialists in the Denver area? thank you so much for your input. We're struggling desperately to understand what's goin... |

| As I read through this forum, a common theme that keeps being mentioned is the AS child being bullied (more than other kids). My 14 y/o son (who has not been formally diagnosed with AS, but exhibits the symptoms) constantly complains of being bullied in school. I have spoken with all of his teachers... |

I have seen several people mention that they sleep better at night (or at least fall asleep more easily) when they have some weight on them. Can anyone describe/explain what they use (i.e., heavy blanket?) to help them sleep?
thanks. |

| Hello, I discovered this website yesterday while researching some information regarding my son. He is turning 14 years old and has consistently struggled with schoolwork, friendships, and basic day-to-day activities. The only time he feels really happy is when he's playing video games or a fantasy g... |
