Nobody in the NT world says it is bad manners or bad or impolite. This is not an NT vs ND thing.
Don't know, don't care what the OP may or may not have been told, but it is definitely not a universal NT, "This is bad" thing.

It is if the noise isn't that loud to them.

Also I'm not asking NTs to explain because I don't understand. I'm able to accept people without understanding. I want them to do the same...do I have to keep repeating myself here? I didn't say you were asking them to explain, only that I ask them to explain, and they don't. I don't like not under...

When my friend/acquaintence said this they did not mean it in a belligerent or derrogatory way. I asked them what the proto-typical NT stance was on this (at least in our area) and they responded that it was not considered very socially-acceptable. They were merely answering my question. Oh, I didn...

I whole-heartedly understand the sentiment of having a hard go in an NT-dominated not-autistic-friendly world, especially in more hostile places or cultures. However, there are good NTs out in the world. I don't personally know very many, but if I took that to believe that NTs are mostly bad or 99%...

If someone told me that covering my ears was unacceptable they wouldn't be my friend for very much longer. Yes, when I hear a loud noise, I cover my ears because it's more important to me that I'm not in pain from the sound than what NTs think. Why? Because NTs like the ones you describe have a supr...

As much as I love my life right now, I would rather die painfully of polio than live with autism. There has been scientific proof that vaccines cause autism. My entire family has had vaccinations and they all have autism. At least I'm in good company...

I believe in neurotypicals meeting autistic people halfway. I believe in autistic people meeting neurotypicals halfway. I don't see why neurotypicals can't learn to understand, at least in some sense, autistic people And vice versa. There are good NT's and bad NT's. There are good autistic people a...

I never find anything either; hardly anything about adults with autism let alone parents with autism. People assume we are either so debilitated that we live in institutions forever or are magically cured when we grow up and don't need resources for everyday life. People tell me I shouldn't have chi...
