When I'm alone I walk around the house like a raptor from Jurassic Park, make all kinds of weird noises (clicking, hissing, purring, squeaking etc.), talk to myself...

If there were a show where it was just humans candidly alone, I suspect you (and I) would feel much less weird. I mean I hope.

I still do - when I'm at home only though. Because when you get home, you can be anything you want. You don't gotta put on an act anymore. When I get home, I'm a goshdarn dinosaur! I wouldn't necessarily say that it's caused by whatever neurological condition I could be diagnosed with - I'm just wei...

Eugenics is a horrific thing no matter who's proposing it. Sure, you're not advocating killing anybody. But you're suggesting a hierarchy, that some people are better than others. And that enables atrocity. We've seen this play out time and time again in history. You're obviously intelligent, but I ...

And this is the problem...the whole religion *does* deserve to be tarred as it is hateful and intolerant. The liberal left media loves to paint this picture of "moderate Islam" and that only "extremists" who blow things up are a problem, and they're all "over there". W...

I can't really feel love; be it for my friends, family, or any of my relationships. Closest I come is sort of a conscious liking and awareness of being happy in their presence. My view is that everybody loves in their own unique way (I fully agree with magz's post), and make your own definition of w...

From my experience, these days both are pejoratives used primarily to offend. I've frequently seen them hurled at well-meaning people promoting inclusiveness. Whatever the historical context, they are frequently used now in a dismissive way in order to shut down discussion. Basically, no one interes...

Dragon, dinosaur, shapeshifter, robot....some mutated monster...

Something other than human.

At 30, I'm still working on letting go of these goals and developing realistic ones. It's challenging.

I'm always surprised when I hear about someone getting so shocked by the mere questioning of accepted norms of behavior; most people I spend time with are open to such discussion. However, I have to accept that people have different value systems than I do and thus prioritize different things than I...

And even then it's more directed at parents rather than the children themselves (though I have seen some children's books for autistic children recently). I think the idea of writing materials for patients with ASD is relatively new, as the notion of high-functioning/less-impaired individuals is als...

a clinical psychologist had the nerve to tell me to go buy clothes at a consignment store. then he told me that when he saw me he did not know if i was male or female. then he told me that my gait was a "transgender walk". and he only saw me walk from the waiting room to the office. sever...

I'd like to have a myrmecarium sometime. Very awesome. At my local zoo there's a large leafcutter ant colony. I used to have a season pass and would go during the day during the week when there weren't as many people and watch them for hours. The vertebrates have an awareness of your presence that ...

I feel ill-equipped to succeed in the world. Not better, not worse, just like I'm in the wrong environment. I used to adopt a superior attitude to protect my ego, but now I'm older and wiser and I realize that reality is never that simple. I've got a greater appreciation for the diversity of people ...

The range for this test is 23 to 155 with a score of 69 being in the middle. I scored dead even, 69. However, with no data available about the average score, we have no reference for how much any one score deviates from the general population. Or on whether or not people identified as narcissistic s...

The truth is that we are a social species, and in other social species any individual in the group that isn't able to participate usually meets a bad end. Social skills have always been important to our species' survival, perhaps even more so in the past than nowadays. "NOW this is the law of t...

I'm far from who I'd like to be, but I'd rather be me than anyone else (real anyways).
