I went bonkers once over some kid in my class making sucky/kissy noises at me.
I hit him with a baseball bat a couple times and then the police were called to the school to arrest me, but I got off because I was a minor. Hooray!

Actually, the Aspie child is probably more advanced, genetically.

Technically overweight people are also blessed genetically, but no one likes them very much either.

Umm...it might also improve our chances of getting laid, which some of us seriously, seriously need.

You need social skills to get laid? Seriously?
Just make a quick trip to the closest ATM and then to "that" lovely area of your city/town. Or Nevada. Y'know.

I'm the example of a "logic boy" - I like it when EVERYTHING has its reason and it's why I always quarreled with my mother - she never explained why she wanted me to do something, she only said that I had to do it, well, something she was even able to explain to me that I had to do a thing because ...

I believe the point the girl made earlier was merely that to be diagnosed as autistic, you have to meet the DSM-IV criteria for an Autism Spectrum condition, if you don't meet 1 or more traits in each category, you may be PDD-NOS or just a very odd person, but NOT an autistic one. Thank you! Someon...

I don't believe you have to have tics or motor skill problems to have Asperger's. I think those are just some traits you may have.

Yes, you do. It's in the DSM-IV.

I think perhaps the Dr meant you either have AS or you don't...I don't think any neurologist much less a credible one would say you have to have ALL of the symptoms. If anyone had every single symptom of AS that is known to run they would not be able to leave their home or function in much capacity...

in order to have AS you have to have ALL of the symptoms of AS. Please back that statement up with an academic reference. I was quoting what my psychologist told me. He's spent 7 years at the University of Toronto getting his BA and his masters, then went on to get a doctorate (not sure where). Upo...

I like to knit. This is repetitive, but also gives you a nice scarf at the end. I tend to knit for charity.

I also attempt  to play guitar, and will sometimes practice chord changes incessantly.

The word you're looking for is "hobby" -- playing guitar and knitting is not stimming.

The textbooks I've read note no significant difference between HFA and AS.
Many of them claim that you can use the terms interchangably.

I'm not saying that there shouldn't be a place for people posting about whether or not they have AS, I'm just saying that there seems to be enough of them to warrant making a seperate section for all of those posts. And to the guy who says that doctors are just out to make money: shut up, seriously....

Or better yet, maybe they can just take my advice and TALK TO A DOCTOR ABOUT IT -- they spend over 7 years getting a degree for a REASON. Most doctors don't know sh** about Aspergers. And we do? I hardly know how it works for myself , let alone other people. At least a doctor can refer you to someo...

Do you stim? How? All my stimming is oral. I'll either talk excessively, flick my tongue against the back of my front-bottom teeth until it bleeds (and usually keep going), or bite my lip until it bleeds (and then some). I have lip balms scatters around my home, my work, and about four in my bag to...
