Mudboy, thanks, I wasn't aware these existed as stand-alone things rather than attached to personality tests. Indeed it helped; I'm reading up on professional astronomy now.

I love Magic! Is your friend playing any format in particular (ask him if unsure), or just throwing together cards with fun interactions between them?
