I don't have any friends, mainly because I find it impossible to make close friends with people who don't have the same interests as I do.

My main special interest is so niche and narrow that I literally would have to travel outside my country to find someone with the same interest, unfortunately.

It's sometimes said that people with autism/AS don't care as much what other people think of them. On the other hand, there's many people with AS/HFA who report having social anxiety, so I wanted to ask you all if and how much you care what other people think of you or how they're going to judge you...

I have had a severe case of maladaptive daydreaming since childhood as well. I have found that the only thing that helps is to get more purpose in your life and just focus on that. I know it's a lot easier said than done and I myself am unable to put that into practice in my own life currently, but ...

Hey. Some interesting advice here. Have you looked into Maladaptive daydreaming? It sounds like you have it. http://daydreamingdisorder.webs.com/ Wait. That's a thing? Yes. I have it as well. It's a condition that isn't part of the DSM or ICD (yet) as it's still very new but I believe it eventually...

I bought an apartment with my parents' help last year and will be moving into it next year (it's still being built). I will be 25 then. (Where I live, the average age for men to move out is 30). Moving out has been almost the only thing on my mind since I was 17.

Have you ever spent a lot of time around someone and then found that you started talking and/or acting like them?

Is that empathy?

Someone can be HFA and severely autistic. HFA and LFA are based on intellectual disability or lack thereof, not severity level. How do you know that? I thought HFA always meant the person has an IQ over 70 while LFA usually means the person is mentally ret*d but in very rare cases, someone with ave...

Is this fantasy world something you escape into? Is it in your thoughts or is it basically just your idea of an ideal world?

Yes, but it wasn't always that way. As a child, I used to obsessively talk about my current obsession, not knowing that I was annoying other people by doing that. As a child and as a teenager, my main obsession was Pokémon and as a child, I was made fun of a lot because of that so eventually I just ...

Hi, Do you think it's possible to have asperger's and be an empath? Over the past couple of days, I've been doing some research on HSP and such and I've come to believe that I am very likely an empath. Isn't that quite a strange combination though, having asperger's and being an empath? Does anyone ...

Ugh, yes. I'm into road cycling actually and motorcycles really scare me when they ride past me on my bicycle.

On a side note, I also hate how they blow so much gas into your face so you can't really breathe properly for a bit, which is obviously important when cycling.

What you're describing here doesn't sound like autism, it sounds more like Maladaptive Daydreaming:
http://daydreamingdisorder.webs.com/

MD and autism/AS can most likely be comorbid and there is some speculation over whether it is commonly comorbid, but there hasn't been any research into that.
