I hate talking on the phone, always have. I end up a lot with that awkward silence, not knowing what to say and wishing I could just end the call but not knowing if that would be rude or not. Hate phones!

Anyone who wants to have Asperger's Syndrome doesn't have it. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I've learned to accept it and work around it somewhat, but some people apparently have a harder time in doing that. What do YOU see as so bad? Frankly, looking at the diagnosis for AS, it almost look...

Constantly. Tapping tables, pencils, clicking ball point pens repeatedly, tapping my feet, chewing my lips, you name it. I'm not even aware of I'm doing it sometimes then someone says it's annoying...

Same here, more or less. I've had close friends in the past, and there are people I'm not interested in being friendly with and I'm sure they know it somehow. |

I don't have any friends. no one likes me. LOL! When I finally figured it that it didn't matter whether people liked me or not, and that it didn't matter why or why not, it took a lot of stress off me. I don't have to strain myself to try to be liked and ending up making a horse's behind out of mys...

I have had friends in the past that I was close with, but I always end up running them off or I go through periods where I just don't want to be around them when I have my own stuff to do. It's hard to keep friends when they don't share your interests. I go through a lot of hobbies and interests, an...

I was in the Air Force for 4 years, I found the Air Force to be a perfect place for someone with Asperger's Syndrome. YMMV. There are a lot more careers in the military than ones involving combat, and the Air Force is a fairly safe place to be anyway. You just have to pick the right job and get it g...
