I'd fully agree with you on the Nihilism, ie. there doesn't seem to be any individual meaning or purpose that hangs together under scrutiny. As for the rest - I see most of our hangups over life after death either needing to exist or needing to not exist being political. Outside of the politics tho...

i dont have an exact same ordeal, but when i am mastering a new skill i am afraid about, i need a friend, who allready has it, near me. to calm me, tell me its ok, and caution me before i make bad mistakes (then talk them over and help me correct them). untill im confident. Sounds like a good idea....

I thought walking around in public was bad enough for anxiety but driving's worse. It's not so bad when nobody's around so I usually drive in the night to practice, but when other cars or people are around I'll start to feel panicked.
