I will have to try the 'Look at the camera' trick. My 9 year old AS son does the exact same thing and is looking sideways in just about every photo taken in the past 3 years. When he was younger, he was such a good poser too!

It sounds like he's got dyspraxia, which is commonly co-morbid with AS. It makes it hard to use your hands easily and it's very frustrating. I also had a hard time with self-grooming issues, because wiping, brushing teeth and hair, and showering all involve a lot of fine motor coordination and that...

I don't like the thought of long-term meds - but when my AS + ADHD son was first put on Concerta, it was like night and day - he's much better with the meds, and he even told us that his brain felt clearer.
