Politicians, prominent intellectuals, and academics in France have voiced concern that 'out-of-control leftism and cancel culture' from the United States is threatening French identity. They are arguing that American ideas on race, gender, post-colonialism – especially those coming from U.S. univer...

INTJ, then changed to INTP. I was into this for a couple of weeks once, but it’s about as meaningful as taking an online quiz to find out what Harry Potter house you are (Ravenclaw).

I have lots of to-do lists and I lose them all the time. They're on my phone, on my calendar and on multiple notepads or scraps of paper around the house / in my handbag. To reduce all that confusion I give myself one main task to accomplish in the day, if anything. If I don't do it, it moves to th...

You'll have to make a decision on this. Wanting to quit a drug isn't enough for an addict to actually stop. They have to make an active decision to stop. I think this is basically true, as I used to smoke quite a while ago now. One day I decided the dependency was actually making me more stressed a...

Not sure about people being psychic, as I'm often told I look annoyed, or bored, pissed off, or worried or whatever when I'm merely in a kind of neutral mood.
Anyway, OP, sounds like this builder is doing the usual thing of tyre kicking to extend the scope of the work and get you to pay more. |

These days I take a really long run up to events and give my mind plenty of time to mull things over. Planning a trip on my own is tricky but my last holiday involved planning with a friend, which I found much harder. Going through all the logistics of where to go and what to take really left my br...

Yeah, get this in some supermarkets with harsh strip lighting and noise. I just want to get out of there as quickly as possible but without abandoning the reason for being there, so my behaviour from my partner's point of view can become quite "challenging".

I have Asperger's Syndrome (AS). I also have this odd accent on my voice that no one who hears it can identify it. Does anyone else on here with Aspergers, or another form of High functioning Autism, get told they have an accent that is seemingly unidentifiable while their parents have none? Just w...

I dislike having work people in the house. My advice is to set up in a safe room where you can try to go about your normal day, and just offer them a cup of tea occasionally and be aware that they might call for your attention on something. It's never going to be the most comfortable situation, but ...

Does anyone else find planning and booking holidays/vacations way too much? Although I love actually being on holiday, actually making the decision of where to go and what to do is an incredibly stressful situation for me. In theory it should be incredibly easy - there are web sites with lists of ho...

I’m trying to be a bit more forgiving of my own quirks; when I can’t just act “normal”, and my emotional intelligence is only sufficient to recognise this after the fact. While I don’t want to make excuses for myself, I should not beat myself up over small things so much. I haven’t made any moves to...

Yeah, I realised this about ADHD and ASD when I began to read more into ASD Just recently. My characteristics that seemed applicable to ADHD are also entirely applicable to ASD, And actually more so. Particularly inattention and inability to look anyone I’m speaking to in the eye, haha. So I’m not p...

I’m a forty-one year old software developer and I’m again mulling over the likelihood that I have Asperger’s. I always felt something was off about me as a kid (hey, who doesn’t, right?), and neurodiversity wasn’t really talked about in the same way back then, so I’d just try to fit in to avoid bein...
