It looks like it's been 9 years since the last post on picky eating so hope it's ok to open a new thread. Like one of the original posts, I had seen picky eating listed as a possible characteristic of ASD but I got away with it as a kid, eating just rice krispies, spaghetti and mcdonalds hamburgers ...

Not sure if the search tool isn't working but I couldn't find any threads related to Autcon which is apparently still going in person in Utah next month. Is anyone here going? If there is an open thread on Autcon, feel free to point it out.

Hi all. I'm back after being away for probably 10 years. Lots has happened since then. My diagnosis was confirmed by a neuropsychologist but I've been more involved with mental health communities than autism community in recent years because of my dual diagnosis. I've become involved with a group to...

This is common question--is there not a sticky or compiled list of providers who specializes in diagnosing adults on spectrum not just kids? I think there was one on autism women's network years ago but I lost the link.

There is whole movement called psychiatric survivors from people who have had bad experiences with psychiatry. Related books are Anatomy of an Epidemic and Mad in America by Robert Whitaker. Used to be involved but sometimes feels like it's more extreme with many saying all psych meds are bad.

Hey--I know several people with dual diagnosis of bipolar and aspergers. I might be one but never got aspergers confirmed because bipolar is the one that scares doctors. I have long suspected that people might get misdiagnosed with bipolar or schizophrenia when they might actually be on autistic spe...

I'm writing up a document that could be given to gym managers or coach types since there's lots for kids but practically nothing for adults. What kind of information/tips for working with people on the spectrum would you want in a handout to give them? Or would you not disclose at all?
