Show, Don't Tell, as I understand it, suggests that rather than overtly telling the reader how Joe was feeling and whether or not he was lying, the writer should show that with the contextual clues. Neither of you did the telling , but I feel like your example didn't show either. Like, I understand...

It depends on the writer's style. It's really popular to throw around the phrase "Show, Don't Tell", but this offers a good time to explore that. Show, Don't Tell, as I understand it, suggests that rather than overtly telling the reader how Joe was feeling and whether or not he was lying, ...

I've struggled with this at times as well. I find that it gets worse for me whenever I lack external structures and routines (i.e. school or in-person work). When I enter situations in which I lack some level of predictability, I find comfort in obsessing over my interests. Sometimes my mind believe...

I'll start! :D Where* were you born and/or raised? I was born and raised in suburban southeastern Pennsylvania (Near Philly). Where* do you currently live? Unfortunately, same as above. What are unique aspects of wherever you live that you love? Hate? I love the relative cultural diversity of the Gr...

Do you want to?

Possibly, I'm not sure if I'm interested in marriage (definitely not at this point in my life). I am attracted to men, I'm bisexual. :)

Well, culturally / ethnically / racially? Absolutely not. I come from a multiracial family and upbringing, they're pretty chill as far as that goes.

However if I married a man, many in my family would have a problem with that. :( :(

I've tried and failed with online dating numerous times, now I claim I've given it up but we'll see if that lasts. It is challenging. On one hand, online dating is meant to make intentions clear from the start, so theoretically if you were seeking out a relationship on an app meant for relatio...

Hi, I haven't posted in centuries (old accounts from when I was probably way too young for online forums). I've been struggling with the transition into adulthood / independence and finding employment has been torture. I stumbled across Mentra, an app that seems to advertise itself as a sort of serv...
