My autism is very outward.

It’s extremely noticeable.

Well, same, I worded that poorly. I guess male autism is outward to others.

Male autism is just more noticeable because its more commonly outward, versus female autism which is inward. We are pretty familiar with this. Like a lot of autistic people, I view gender differently (based on what others pressure me to do) than the average person. I don’t really pay attention to an...

Same goes with a lot of those “”””cute”””” (heavy quotations here) characters that are obviously made for merchandise. Baby Yoda, for example. I do not like that thing. I think Japan has done a really good job however with actually making cute mascots, and that’s coming from someone who is not much ...

I personally blame the Minions for saturating the genre enough for years that Hollywood thinks it's all just kids' stuff.

The effects of Minions to western society has been catastrophic I cannot go one day without seeing one of those things. And they are not even cute…

I love animation and drawing as well, but the Oscars have been losing credibility fast. They USED to respect animation, before it was sectioned off as a genre of its own. People now understand that the Oscars are just an echo chamber for Hollywood celebrities, and those who actually nominate films d...

I think this debate comes from the fact that people have become tired of the brilliant savant autistic and want more nuanced portrayals. The savant is not “wrong” but since it’s overwhelmingly represented, that’s what people tend to think autism is. (As stated many times before.)

Its funny cause that last paragraph of the first post was my exact feelings as I mentioned my depression to my parents (which, years later, after much trial and error, was also compounded by autism). I am the same for the most part: no apparent life changing struggle, pretty average middle-class, bu...

In no particular order: Art: drawing and watercolor/gouache painting, acrylic flow painting right now but I need spoons to get anything actually done. My goal is to be a paid artist someday. I actually used to do paid commissions online before leaving a lot of my social medias, truthfully it was a ...

I really struggle with my interests and I think it’ll help to just see that other people have interests of their own. In what way do you struggle with your interests? Do you find they get in the way of other things, or that people find them strange? I don’t know. I’m trying to figure that out. But ...

It surprises me the emphasis on family that many preach, and yet for most it is a drag to be around them. Both my parents moved far away from their families and I can see why, I myself can hardly be around them myself for more than a short trip. (In fact, my father has a “48 hour” rule that he can o...

As someone who definitely is a nerd and an alt kid, i despise these stereotypes because I am a girl who likes different things! I don’t wanna be judged for that. Can anyone tell me why? I’m a teen girl and if I’m being honest here I think a lot of it comes internally, as a teen girl’s worst enemy i...

I’m young so gen 7 was my first, and I would play it with a childhood friend who I don’t know anymore. Makes me sad to think about but it happens. Gen 7 still holds a very special place in my heart because of that. Gen 9 did bring back some of that good old fun cause I really did care about the stor...
