I've had the same issues. What worked for me was meditation and breath work. I do it in the mornings, on my lunch break, and in the evening. I find somewhere comfortable and quiet, and just silence my mind, and try to just exist in space. It's like releasing a pressure valve. It's not perfect, but i...

When I was a child everyone thought I acted so much older than my actual age. When I got into my late teens/twenties everyone thought I acted younger than my actual age. Now I think I'm finally acting my age.

My special interests have always existed. I am an information sponge, and I will soak up every single bit of information on a topic of interest until there is nothing new to learn. When I've learned everything about a topic, I move on to a new interest. Sometimes special interest will last a lifetim...

I got 138 of 200 (98% atypical), which correlates pretty closely to all the other tests I've taken. The first time I ever took this quiz was a little over a year ago when I started to suspect I was autistic, and that was an older version of the quiz I suppose. I got 172 of 200 on that version. I hav...

I have always had a great relationship with my dad, my mother on the other hand has some mental health issues. Everyone that knows her suspects that she's bi-polar, she's also a narcissist, and with that combination it's very difficult to have a coherent conversation with her. She can be sweet and f...

We can't win. I get in trouble for being too direct and honest, but whenever I make an effort to be more kind I've been told I'm bing condescending. Im at the point now where I'm trying to practice not talking as much to mitigate this issue. It sounds sad, but things have been going a lot more smoot...

I took on the persona of a Spock-like character for my first at-sea deployment.  No smiles (deliberately), monotone voice, no jokes, pure business-like attitude, et cetera.  You know . . . normal Aspie-like behavior. My fellow enlistees hated me for being squared-away, always passing inspections an...

Like many of you I automatically switch accents when speaking with people that have different accents. I have to be careful in this political climate though. When telling stories to others that involve folks that have distinct accents I will go into accent mode when I say the things they said, which...

For me it's almost aerobic. I swing my arms forward and backward while flicking my index and middle finger against each other, and rocking from side to side. I also move my legs like a frog under the sheets before I get exhausted and fall asleep. I mask most of this when in public, but as I've aged ...
