I've had problems over saying things such as: Adding to sociological discussions: "These statistics fail to adequetly describe such and such because they don't take regional differences into account and..." leading into a debate of accuracy. "Slavery was not the MAIN cause of the Civil war it was ju...

I'm a 20 year old college student. I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at 15. I enjoy politics, law, personal philosophy, etc. And my IQ was tested to be 135. I was always seen as dumb by my peers. To those that didn't know me better, I was an idiot. It seems as if every time I open my mouth, t...

I was diagnosed with a Nonverbal Learning Disability as well. But that doctor told my Mother he did not feel like he could handle my case and I was referred to someone who worked with autistic teenagers and solidified my diagnosis. When I spoke with him during sessions, I did not fake anything. I di...

It's possible that it's just part of my genetic personality. It's also possible that the physical and verbal and emotional abuses of my childhood whenever I would speak my mind caused a stunting of that particular growth. In other words, I may not directly think that I'm going to be kicked for spea...

My anxiety consists of fidgeting, pacing, biting my tongue with my teeth and fingernails, shivering, a pain in my abdomen, etc... I smoke and it helps relieve anxiety by kind of... letting it out completely in a way. My intestines relax and uh... You know what happens then. I will shake it all out. ...

I have gastrointestinal issues as well, I never thought that it might be connected somehow to my AS. My appetite is irregular too, some weeks I'll eat an awful lot while others I won't eat much at all. Granted, I don't have weight issues, I'm at a healthy weight and am by no stretch of the imaginati...

By sound I mean I have a sensitivity to sounds, and I have great pitch memory (my voice is undesirable for singing but I am described as a good singer because I am great at hitting the right notes and I have good vocal c... |

I do appreciate it, even though my Mom and other family members do dispute the diagnosis. But I prefer the opinion of a professional over those of people that I do not hang around terribly often (I'm not very sociable at all...) The post describing the females seems to hit it well for me, though. I ...

I love learning in class, but often times the people around me seem like they do not even wish to be there! Whether or not they wish to be, I don't see why they cannot just behave. I hate how people will get in the way of my work, get in the way of the board when I am taking notes without a care, or...

My eating habits cycle, from eating an awful lot to forcing myself to eat for periods of time. I'd been to many Psychiatrists before being diagnosed. I was told I'm a danger to myself and others. I was not able to receive the proper care, and I no doubt, suffered because of that. I really hope that ...

I'm an 18 year old female, I can't speak with other women normally at all. I'm quite afraid of them. My friend base is a bunch of guys, some of them having Asperger's. They're all basically video game/rpg nerds. I don't care for video games (they used to give me anxiety fits, so I'm permanently scar...
