I don't think you guys see the relation here... Imagine if BuzzFeed made a video of a Mexican person being smuggling into the US to great trauma. Then they were homeless and in dire conditions trying to find work in the US. Then they get raided by US agents and deported. The video ends with 'Mucho M...

Video: https://youtu.be/Zr5qzV-8Zkc This video really struck me as an indicator of how poorly mainstream perspective still views the autistic culture. Buzzfeed made a video about a man who is socially inept, racist and mysogynist. It attempts to correlate all of these things and vilify them. Then in...

@OP Glad you are finding ways that work for you. It is good to hear positive stories to help balance out the ones about difficulties. But to prescribe a whole bunch together, an entire system so to speak is pretty much doomed to failure. One problem is the narrowness of applicability, to only a por...

I "feel" other people very clearly. But I find the energies of emotion neurotypical send off don't properly register to me, even I clearly perceive them. I will interpret their emotion to actually be something other than what it is.

You know autism is such a peculiar thing. I believe I have encountered people who are autistic, but they developed really good management techniques for sensory overload and meltdowns and they don't struggle with that, and thus have a little better social skills, so they don't fall into diagnosis as...

You will always find people who feel annoyed by someone trying to help, because if the advice happens to be not applicable to them, they easily feel patronized. Not patronized. For me to feel patronized I would have to feel someone was talking down to me . Not the case here. Also, not so much that ...

OP, you express some very interesting ideas but I'd like to ask for some more details. You express a dislike of PhDs, did they give you some bad advice? You imply that you had some sort of epiphany when you were 26. Could you describe this more detail? As Narrator suggested you seem to be relativel...

My point is that what you have been saying is laced with a lot of assumptions bordering on insult. That's what I meant with the "ease up" statement. I have a tendency to always anger some percentage of people. Its an odd thing with the english language where I'm finding to state anything I have to ...

I have an amazing job that I love to go to. I live in the most perfect most apartment for myself. I have friends who adore me. I know older autistic people who direct and teach me. I know how to be sexually attractive, I've had girlfriends. I know how to go into any social situation and intermingle...

If something resonates with you, take it to heart Some things sure did, and I did, thanks! More than anything it's just nice to read about people who have been through what I feel like I'm going through right now (though I hadn't heard the term 'metanoia', which I'm slightly ashamed of since I stud...

Weed doesn't lower my energy, it does relax me but also usually makes me want to do things more(at least go outside and get out of the house) or makes me more able to enjoy it....I certainly do not want to do things that cause anxiety/panic, though cannabis can help with things that do that but yea...

Because it amazes me with my autistic how connected we are, how connected we can be, how truly empower our relations are to each other. Where as people less out of the plateau of autism, the relation can be there, but the full intuitive interconnection of social connection doesn't occur, we still n...

Intresting, though I don't try to act neurotypical....some of that I agree somewhat with. Though have to admit even without trying to be neurotypical and even having tried thinking 'oh I'll just find my own way and thrive' my life still seems to be in a gutter or something, don't see it improving t...

My desire to differentiate the two isn't to schism the two. But rather to avoid the trap of falling into the need of thinking and believ... |

I do not like when people try to create a firm line between NTs and people on the spectrum and there are too many generalizations in this. I wouldn't say there is a 'firm line', but rather an exponential curve to plateau. I know some people who I've half suspected of autism, half suspect of neuroty...
