I have periods or situations when I speak too quietly and I hear that I behave like a shy girl (I’m 36, woman) but other times I hear that I speak too loud and too much. I’m not sure what it depends on. Maybe on that how comfortable I feel or maybe also on the topic I talk about. If it’s my interest...

It’s a good question. Maybe the picture the media shows of autism also contributes to that? I know that people on the spectrum can be toxic and manipulative just like anyone else. The way it works may be different from neurotypical though.

On a lighter note, in terms of the lighter side of emulation, I did go through a phase in my first days of high school, of observing my new teachers closely enough to mimic their voices and behaviors back to some classmates -- who then bullied me a little less as I'd managed to make them laugh. Aga...

I’m not sure how good or poor I’m at this, but I do remember many misunderstandings, also situations when someone expected me to comfort them but I didn’t pick it and I’m terrible at comforting people, I don’t actually do it. I remember people telling me that someone wanted to say this or that, I al...

I don’t know what to think about it… I myself am not diagnosed autistic, so I can’t say 100% that I am, although suspected, I have synesthesia and generally “spicy brain” as I heard. I’m not non verbal, since my childhood I experience some sort of visions of events that don’t happen at the real time...

I like bread roll with cheese and boiled egg or with chicken ham and boiled egg. I hate pork and beef but I like chicken and fish. And veggies. For lunch it must be pasta with some sauce (I have few variations that I accept) or fish or dumplings. The most I ate at one sitting was full 200g chocolate...

The conversation issue, you described perfectly, is only one of the reasons I feel not fully grown up. I also have stress issues, I cry at work if it’s too much going on, too many people wanting something from me and I can’t process all that. Before I used to hide in bathrooms cry and slap my own fa...

This is how I feel. Life is too much for me. I struggle to take care of myself, book doctor appointments, remember to buy clothes etc. I get clothes from my mom because luckily she has a very rich friend, who buys too much and I take everything that fits me happily. Sometimes my husband reminds me I...

Warum besonders Grammatik? Ich möchte Deutsch...

Since my childhood I was kind of blocked, unable to recognize and express my needs and emotions. It took me years to gain this ability. It also took me years of analyses, I have a very good memory, I often remember the chemistry of the feeling that I couldn’t identify at that time I had it. When I w...

“And...regarding diagnosis...the most important diagnosis to get is the correct diagnosis. But I admit I was very pleased when I got my Autism diagnosis. It explained so much![/quote]” I absolutely agree and I feel that this diagnosis would be the most accurate. My therapist told me he suspects me a...
