yes- i wouldnt say alarming- but its definatly really hard to describe, and produces an immediate, strong reaction.

its really common- but i can see no reason for it. the construct of the upper arms seems to have nothing notable.. so why such an issue???
its weird.

jedi- dont get misled by the whole empathy aspect of AS. i think far too much emphasis is placed on that- it varies from one AS person from another, and from day to day in the individual. i thought i was really empathic- like most AS girls i can cry at the drop of a hat- but i often miss things allt...

i understand- just about- the link between lots of facets of AS- cognition, sensory stuff, really. i cant read clocks properly because my cognition is weird, which also causes my dyslexia, and means i cant drive etc- fine. but i've never been able to understand why this SPECIFIC part of the body sho...

Squirrelrat- ha yes! i had EXACTLY the same thing - from being told to 'well, you cant have it very much' to 'you just think you do' by 'experts'. i was really lucky that i found some female presentation stuff on here a couple of months after i heard about AS. when were you dx'd? most of AS is invis...

wow- really interesting. ive actually never considered what triggers mine- i am so dim sometimes. fascinating to read everyone else's... worst ones i had were when i lived at home- from full on (yes, in public  ) screaming incoherantly at my parents, screaming abuse at them, hitting them, and ...

mysty- ok- you said: 'There is no map. There's no way to describe someone's place within the spectrum. Oh, there's the "high functioning" and "low functioning" labels, as well as the "Asperger's", "autistic disorder", and "PDD-NOS" labels, but that's all pretty vague. The differences that exist on t...

hi- thanks carole and lab pet. lab pet- that's EXACTLY what i mean. ironically, its similar to my cognative and auditory processing problems- you know, like hearing a language you *half *know, but missing the point of the conversation, or talking to a foreigner, who is saying 'yes,' but obviosuly do...

hi mysty- thanks, but no, i disagree...what i wanted to know was their opnion on which *aspects* of AS i do, and dont, have. eg- i have really severe sensory problems, auditory processing problems. also sometimes poor cognative processing problems, but im still really bright- which seems contradicto...

i have out of sync sleep patterns- maybe a 30 hr cycle- and it makes me ill to be awake too much in the morning, bedtime is always around 2-3am, whatever amount of sleep i get. that's just how my body is programmed.

i thought this was common in as.??

i am now diagnosed, but was quite shocked by how little the diagnosticians REALLY knew about a.s. they are 'experts', with 5-10 years a.s experiance, but seemed to misunderstand, or be surprised by much of what i said. i just wondered how much other people have experianced this. eg- i have severe tr...

ha ha- thanks fudo. to be honest, Im not entirely sure what I want help with- I need help with all you say, but then, I have such issues dealing with people that it would just create as many problems as it'd solve. I dont want to deal with anyone on a daily basis, or even weekly... I did assume that...

thanks to both. but your questions are kind of what I'm asking- how does this report shape what care I will recieve afterwards? once this report is finished, that's it- I'm on my own, i dont go back to this clinic. so will any referrals be based on scrutiny of this report, or will other notes be con...

I am going through the diagnostic process at present, and wondered how important the statement thing tthy send to one's GP is? i've been diagnosed with asperger's, and have been sent a provisional report on their findings to check over. its accurate, but I dont feel it gives a representation of the ...
