I remember being 21 and living downtown Denver. Wish someone had told me about AS :-) Crazy times.

Do you have any beneficial relationships with other people? Physical, intellectual, emotional? I believe it's good you don't listen to the advice to just suck it up, get over it, and make something of myself. You can't just turn off how you feel. Well actually you can, like a battle hardened soldier...

I feel like a friend is somebody you get more out of than you put in.

Good point (efficiency being boring for the workers.) I agree that I dislike micro management by supervisors in the interest of efficiency. What I dislike is when management does not allow creative innovation by the workers which can result in greater efficiency. Yeah, that sucks. That is truly bor...

For some years I was often told to write up my work in a standard "work book" rather than using a computer. But it was so inefficient; if you write up the results of multi-tasking in a paper book, everything ends up in chronological order rather than being ordered by subject, so you've got a snippe...

Thanks.......I don't mean to belittle the frustrations of those who resent seeing their taxes wasted on malingerers, just that I think there's a bigger picture here. I hope I didn't stray too far from the original topic. But the question was "am I the only one who doesn't want a job?" and that got ...

The question that bugs me is, does having Asperger's and ADD count as a disability according to their requirements, or can I use the fact I have tendonitis in almost every joint as a reason too? Go to http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1872620&ps=rs. Fast forward to 29:30. Thi...

I'm the same way. I used to have a job, a very good one, but eventually it became too much for me, and I kept thinking about what I was working for. I became burnt out on that career (I.T.), with no friends, no mate, no prospects, and uninterested in anything my money could buy me. I quit, and event...

I've gotten better about this. Seems to me now, that efficiency is boring for workers. I mean at some point things become so efficient that you feel like a robot, and in fact could probably be replaced by one. Plus when I was younger, change was easier. It takes more effort as we get older. Things a...

Men help their friends by breaking down barriers that exist between their friends and the girl they like. The barriers are the girls friends, or her own doubts about his friend. Women do the same by setting up barriers between their own girl friends and guys. Sometimes guys and girls team up and the...

This is a concern I have because I'm supposed to be seen by a free psychiatrist to see if I qualify for state disability assistance. I've found psychologists to be very good listeners, but psychiatrists seem weird.

I thought I was expressive like NT's until I watched myself on a Youtube video. It's much like watching an excited four year old talking. I was thinking maybe I was NT and had some other problem besides AS, because I did feel like I was expressive. At least until I watched that video again (which I ...

If you ever see otherwise, then understand that because of what He has been through, their is nothing Jesus can't forgive. Unconditional Forgiveness? Truly a disincentive to proper behavior. If you can be forgiven for anything, then anything goes. ruveyn It is indeed a disincentive to proper behavi...

Up to that point I had been relying on myself to figure out my problems. I never made any progress, or at least any lasting progress, until I relied on God. You have grasped at a rather slender reed. ruveyn Are you using a reed as something that is symbolically weak? That is very true from the pers...

You underestimate yourself and your mind's ability and effect on your body. Up to that point I had been relying on myself to figure out my problems. I never made any progress, or at least any lasting progress, until I relied on God. You relied on yourself without use of faith. When you turned to "g...
