There is a big difference between dropping a casual, “OK” or “sure” in an in-person conversation versus sending the same word in text. This is because when we speak to others in person, we’re using and interpreting countless subtle cues. “In a face-to-face or synchronous conversation, where we have...

According to this article, writing does cause more trouble than spoken word. This is a popular point of view, but I personally do not feel, this is right. It is a question of nonautistical majority cultures. I don't know whether it's a good article or not, but some parts of it seemed plausible. htt...

Of course these days it's much easier to do just that, indeed with Twitter it's mandatory. I think both have their places, short and long messages. But in written communication I prefer first do write short messages, if I do not have the feeling to know enouth about the position of the other person...

Yes I found people that communicate this way. It's more parallel, patterned, personal and visual than auditory-verbal, and feels richer. That's just a personal view tho. Interesting, and it is good, that there are other people, who understand this. I am not sure, which kind this picture-communicati...

That is a neat 3 part problem that I like lots: 1. Building terms and words for write-nature, 2. Finding &/or making write-nature groups, 3. Finding "fair acting" folks. Yes. I find drawn pictures to be a strong part of my "write-nature," and that "pen" tablet lapt...

I've always wished I could just communicate via telepathy. I asked, because I know there are people who think, they know good, what the others feels and don not really do. Many Nonautistics feel this way as I understand. Their "empathy" is broadly a illusion. But there also are some peopl...

if i didn't have to talk, i wouldn't. i prefer to write then say things verbally. To write is verbally too. ;) Do you ever thought about living with other Autistics? Are there Autistics who prefer to write searching actively for a place to live (with the body) with others, who understand the own na...

Writing can be more organized but talking is more efficient I do not think, this is correct. But there are ways to communicate very inefficient following both. and can be socially rewarding. I think this feeling is a big problem for us. And I do not feel this way myself, not bound to the physical b...

But I am not a talker. I am more “telepathic” if that makes sense.

Do you think, it is telepathic to write for communication?

Also how isn't there. Write letters. Leave notes ont he fridge take innitiative. Sure it might nto be as effective as talking in person but I mean you do what you want to do. I think, it would be good only to have people with the same nature living together in a house. I experienced people with by-...

Let me see if I understand: The organization has a policy that formal, "official" organization communications be in writing but some people try to do it not in writing but rather in speaking. Yes, and this people live in one of this houses. So they are "existent" and act in the ...

In our projekt written communication is set as standard for all. This means the themes related to the community, organisation, but also if a person have to say something about the own impression about others. Because we want to have such themes cleared, and everyone have to participate. This is the ...

I was wondering if prominently-positioned whiteboards would be casual and quick enough to divert some of the talkers to writing. We never had a whiteboard, but a board to write on papers pinned on it. Now we are structurally a community in a village-house and also in a house in the countys main cit...

Thanks for your response. Maybe my english ist too bad to understand? Yes, a way to communicate could be such a board in a room. But my theme is different. I often experienced, that autistic people emotionally want to communicate by mouth. And they do. So the group in the house splits up in such who...

I am engaged in a self organized housing project over a long time and over the years I more and more learned, that there are many people in the spectrum, who emotionally prefer to talk by mouth with the people they live with in a house, often such ones too, that say in forums, that they like to writ...
