think, think, think, think...just can't stop it...and it is sometimes about the dumbest things, like if only I said something in a given situation and second guessing other minds... it's difficult to shut it off...it is an impairment...sometimes it yields some useful thoughts, you bend back in so mu...

Was it one of those 1, 2 or 3 point perspective drawings; or isometric? I remember having to draw in the horizon line line in for those. They were hard. The only way to explain 3D drawing is by drawing a diagram: can be confusing though if not explained properly. All those set-squares and desks... ...

OK, let's start a thread about really annoying teacher you've had... Let me give a story: It was a design & technology course. We were meant to create some artefact, but before that draw out the dimensions. I couldn't draw 3D and when speaking with the teacher, he just spoke to me as if I was re...

Yes. Very frequently, esp. when waiting

Oh, that as well. Sometimes I will zone out so bad...it is very intense, i can't control my thoughts, it can be overwhelming.

I seem to be drawn to people who have a welcoming and understanding demeanor. That's really the main thing that could make me comfortable around people, also I can sense this welcoming and understanding demeanour ... However, if a person is proud and presumptuous, or refuses to treat you as an equa...

some people with ASD's can have lax joint and/or low muscle tone. I cannot stand easily without leaning against something and i was the kid in the class leaning on the desk with slumped shoulder and head resting on arms etc. Yes, I'm the same. I find it uncomfortable in my skin. If I was to stand n...

I would also add that applying what you observe from these social situations intiutively can be due to a myriad of reasons, if you are socially isolated and have never had the chance to apply what you pick up, then it is understandable that it won't be natural. In other words, in can be due to wirin...

I knew anything about AS- watching a girl, who must have been about 13 or 14- flirt with a boy. She knew just what to do, just when to smile, how to toss her head the right way. I was amazed that it was so natural for her, and not for me...whereas, here I am, an "experienced" adult! Once again, I t...

Just to start the discussion...

Aspies are generally viewed to be self-centered and not egocentric, by wiring ... this is not to say the Aspie cannot be both, but the former is viewed as part of the autisitic condition, the latter is a trait that can exist with an NT or Aspie...

yes, yes, yes, yes, to nearly everything written in this thread, it's actually uncanny. I overthink till it can become a paralysis...It takes me forever to make a decision for something really simple, because I have to think it...I can't do nimble, and at the shops I often miscount coins...but if gi...

I will fight the idea of cure and I will fight the idea that we are "suffering" from autism. I will fight to make NTs understand that we suffer from the social system they cram down our throats every minute, every hour, every day of our lives. So true, that the autist, or any person who is differen...

I don't mind helping, pleasing, putting others wishes above my own comfort zone (it is the most difficult thing, to become disinterested). It is called being in relation and friendship. All religious traditions talk about the neighbour, that your acts become disinterested. There is, however, a diffe...

Yes, and I look younger than my age. I recently grew back my beard (just to look a bit older), because people can be superficial, and like many noted, treat you with little respect (I don't really want respect, just to be taken seriously and understood a bit). Oh well...it's the world we live in. :)
