Yes you are right - one issue per thread is the right way to do it.

You are also right in that I was not clear at all in what I was asking / saying (sorry it's an ADHD thing). I will try to be more clear and direct in future.

Just a thought..

I wonder if the reason why he doesn't show he cares is because the thought does not occur. Maybe he just expects that his mother and son should already know that he loves and cares about them so maybe he thinks he does not need to demonstrate this over and over?

I find the responses from people with AS to be a lot different to the parents of AS kids. We keep having to fight to get any help for my son (HFA & ADHD 15yo). We've had fight after fight with disability services but they just don't want to help. They will happily give us funding for 'find your own' respite (which is useless if you have no-one to ask) but they won't help fund counsel...
