I completely agree with that, and I'm looking to get medical testing at the moment. My medical problems don't end there. I've had tons and tons of symptoms for a long time, and no real explanation. I've not yet found an answer, and doctors aren't always as helpful as you'd like. I'm not on any medic...

I'm in a pretty bad way right now. I'm not actively thinking of suicide anytime soon, but it's on my mind as an option for the future. I just can't see how my life can improve from this point. I've tried, and tried, and tried to change, and nothing ever seems different. I've seen other people go thr...

Yes, absolutely I would. I value things that most others do (friendship, relationships, and so on), yet I have great difficulty in succeeding with them. I don't have amazing talents to make up for it, either. I'd absolutely change it if I could.

I have anxiety, but it's a bit different to what most people seem to experience. I don't get a fight-or-flight response, or have panic attacks. It's more like a cognitive thing, my brain just stresses out and can't take it anymore, and I want to go home and chill out.

If anything I'm the opposite. I don't really care about eating food that's gone cold - it's all good to me.

I have auditory symptoms. I think it's probably a combination of two things. Part of it's a difficulty in deciphering what people are saying. Probably the main part, though, is filtering out background noise. If someone's talking and I'm in a nightclub, my chances of hearing them are close to zero. ...

There is a sense of judgement about things like this. If you're not doing anything with your life, people will look down on you. They'll sometimes discuss it with others: have you heard about so and so, he STILL hasn't got a job. Unfortunately they also don't understand these conditions, and never w...

Thanks for the tips everyone. After thinking about this a little harder, I've decided I'm not going to go for a diagnosis as soon as I planned. If I get some free time to explore this later in the year, then I will do it. But as for the immediate future, life is too hectic to do much about it. For n...

I definitely share this trait. It's because, in the end, my way of being social is fundamentally dishonest. If I was being completely straight with people I'd say that I don't always want to go out and do stuff, that I didn't have a great time at the bar, that I'm not really interested in their rece...

I'm generally not religious, but sometimes I like to entertain the idea of reincarnation. It'd be cool to come back as a 'normal' person.

Depressing as it is, I'm acutely aware of hierarchies and believe they serve a purpose. People aren't much different from the animal kingdom in this regard. There's a clear pecking order. Those at the top immediately get more respect, and are listened to more readily. Those near the bottom are ignor...

I like the gray days more than the sunny ones. When summer comes I don't feel the urge to go outside and soak it up, but when autumn comes I think: awesome! I have the odd responses to caffeine that other people on here have. I don't so much feel tired as I don't feel anything from drinking coffee a...

I dress alright, and try to keep fairly clean, because I know it affects how people perceive me. If I'm just going out into town on my own, though, or if I'm not going out at all, I don't really care. I can happily go a week without showering if I'm not doing anything in particular at the time.

I've always done this. I always felt a bit like the odd one out, but I tried to fit in all the time. I'd try to act normal, hang out with people, do normal things. I always had some success, and I've managed to get some friends around me quite a few times, but it never lasted long, and I always late...

Just took the test, and scored 36.

I also had a go at the rdos-aspie quiz, and my results on that were:

Your Aspie score: 120 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 69 of 200

Hey guys, I've just joined, and posted an introduction in the 'getting to know each other' section a minute ago. I wanted to ask a few questions about getting a diagnosis for Asperger's. I'm not diagnosed myself, and to be honest until recently didn't really know much about what Asperger's was. Desp...
