First for the record, as a person who took philosophy class you want to be careful with absolutivity. Whenever you say ALL, ABSOLUTELY, EVERYONE, UNIVERSALLY, INDISPUTABLE, IRREFUTABLE you are making an absolute claim. This is not just for this thread but in life in general. Unless you use any of t...

I've noticed that it's the stereotypical "manly men" that enjoy touching each other the most. I think it's a sports thing, but I hate sports so I'm not sure. I should point out that I am quite uncomfortable touching another man, I'm generally refering to female relatives and friends, although I sup...

Yeah, I'm like most, I like firm touch and only by someone I feel comfortable with. If I'm feeling very tense, even a firm touch can set me off if it's unexpected. And my kids, though they are certainly among those I like to hug, have really come close to getting smacked when they jump at me or gra...

Does anyone here like being touched and/or hugged? Yes. No. Yes. It changes. And depends by who. PS After reading this back to myself I appriciate that I sound a bit effiminate. It does? Could we please overlook this as I can assure you that this is not the case. I'm not finding anything needs over...

If anyone tries to touch me, I usually back away before they can. If they still manage to touch me, I quickly withdraw whatever body part (usually the arm, shoulder, or leg) that has been touched. I thought that was women in general! No I'm only kidding of course but that does sound like some of my...

Hi I'm awaiting a diagnosis and in my reading I read that many people with aspergers dislike being touched or hugged. I do not have this trait, in fact I very much like this. I find it calming and soothing. I know not everyone has all the same traits but from what I have read here it would appear th...

At home I enjoy the locking mechanism of a folding knife, but this doesn't travel well. Not unlike the 7.62 x 39 round that someone mentioned earlier. Incidentaly I have a .50 round (spent but put back together) I sometime fiddle with that (its big and chunky) but I like moving parts and components ...

Sat down in a diner for lunch and noticed the guy next to me had a book on the counter. The title said something like "Applications for the study of fluid dynamics." I force myself to start conversations with strangers to help myself get better socially so I asked him about it and made a reference ...

My question for you, gentle Internet, is this. How have you improved your capacity to speak to others? I haven't but instead I have tried to come up with alternative soloutions, examples:- I have very specific orders when ordering fast food, I can't seem to communicate this without encoutering prob...

| I find it difficlut with my NT girlfriend of 4 years. The non-verbal thing is a nightmare, and I oftern find myself not knowing what the right thing to do, more space less space -what do I do? | I sometimes refer to myself as a robot. This relates to an incident in my childhood (I might repost this in another thread - the one about emabarassing stories although I am rather proud of it) I was born in 1984 and as a small child I was fond of the (new at the time) the original transformers movi... |

Oh yes, definitely true on all accounts... I especially relate to the Dr. Manhattan character. Could Alan Moore be an Aspie? Watchmen practically screams it, I think... Alan Moore having aspergers has occoured to me and I do see things in some of his other characters in other stories. He is clearly...

This is my third attempt to write this reply, it keeps getting rejected.... very frustrating to repeat yourself. Ror has AS, totally. It's as plain as day. Black and white thinking, the flat affect, few or no friends, lousy hygiene (doesn't care), focused, he constantly misses pronouns, he wears the...

Appologies if I have posted this thread in the wrong section. I just thought my question related more to AS than the actual film. Also appologies for poor gramar and syntax I got slightly overexcited while writing.
