I read your post and wanted to just share this link about this guy, Nick Vujicic, who is such an inspiration. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciYk-UwqFKA We have a 16 yr old with autism, so I was kind of sad to read your post and wondered if our son will feel like you even more as he gets older. He s...

I am so glad someone posted this topic! Our 15 1/2 yr old son is in pretty much the same situation. Not wanting him to just sit around and play on the computer all summer, we had him choose an instrument to learn over the summer. I thought he might enjoy saxaphone, (coz at one time he used to like p...

I am glad you posted this question about driving, because our son is 15 1/2 and I've been wondering about this subject as well. :D Our daughter, (who is typical) is 20 and isn't the least bit interested in learning to drive yet, but he is interested. The part I'm most concerned about is him getting ...

Our son's first two years seemed normal. He smiled a LOT, looked people in the eyes, didn't say much...but tried. He was such a happy camper! :) I guess it was around 2 when he started to fuss, became fearful of change or other people, and woke up evey night with night terrors, unable to be consoled...

My son used to say "I'm really weird mom, right?" That used to break my heart. Then we got the AS diagnosis and now he's learning there is a reason things are tough for him.And I encourage him to read through these forums, as there is infinite wisdom from many like him. He's 16, at least he can rel...

He was diagnosed with high functioning autism, but the leader of a social skills group he attended about 4 yrs ago thought it might be Aspergers. Either way, I hope he will find Wrong Planet a place to meet friends and discover that there are lots of people like him and that he isn't weird. Going to...

I want to let him know about this website.

He's been mainstreamed, having had lots of help with aba in his earlier years .
However....I believe he needs to know that there
are other people who struggle with the same issues he does.

When, how would be the best way to do this?
