I know you specifically wanted an Aspie to help you, but I really wanted to reply. I hope you don't mind. I'm NT, but I wanted to let you know that finding people you can become more than acquaintances with is hard for any person. Actually, maybe some people can be friends with anyone, but I know th...

My friend most likely has AS. I joined wrongplanet to get some background on the traits of a person with AS. Lately he's been going out more, which is great. I'm wondering if anyone here feels more comfortable after drinking? I've started to notice that he becomes more social if he's been drinking. ...

I'm NT, and while smalltalk can be annoying, it doesn't really bother me. However, I've started to pick up that people with AS really dislike smalltalk. Is this common or is it really a personal thing?

My Aspie friend has always walked "funny" but I just realized it was linked to his being Aspie. He walks quickly, with his head down and his shoulders up. He looks uncomfortable. When I say hi to him or try to get his attention he glances at me and mumbles. He doesn't stop walking. I'm so used to it...

hey thanks for all the replies. I don't want to force him out, and I would stop asking him to do things if I thought he really didn't want to participate. It seems like he does like to go out, it's just that I don't want to be overwhelming and scare him off. I don't pity him at all, I just want to b...

oooh. ok a website I went to made it sound like neurotypical was a disorder, i don't know if that's the right word, but it defintiely didn't seem that it was someone who wasn't autistic.

thanks. i don't know how comfortable I am with bringing up AS, even if it is subtly, just because I dont want to offend him in any way. I wish I knew him better, but it's really hard to get to know someone who doesn't do anything social. i guess i'm just frustrated because he's the funniest kid and ...

I don't know if this is the right section to post this, but here goes. I don't have asperger's, but I'm pretty sure a friend of mine does. I'm 17, in my senior year at school. A teacher recently confided in me that my friend may have asperger's. He's also 17. His diagnosis has never been confirmed. ...
