If the mommy doggy didn't want one of the puppies, for whatever reason, she'd just eat it. What's your point?

2. No, I don't, but religious diversity is perplexing. I don't know why there are many "true" religions, from the point of view of their adherents. In this respect it's easier to understand the existence of, say, some new-age quasi-religions like wicca which shouldn't be called religions at all, bu...

Afterall, they should apparently have the right to do whatever they want with their body. And doctors or physiatrists shouldn't talk to them either, because of course that would be influencing their right to choose. Sure... Unless they're pregnant. In that case, we need to force feed them so ...

I don't think the mother was lying to the girl.

The mother was accusing her daughter of lying about it hurting her.

Which is of course the best way of calming someone down when they're in pain - tell them they're lying and you don't believe them. Nice.

I would be more inclined to this if the issue of child custody were framed, as it should be, from the perspective of the best interests of the child. I am fed up to the teeth with arguments that view child custody as a dispute between two parents. Custody of children is not a prize to be won in a c...

If it said "I used to be gay. I just came to my senses is all." it would not be acceptable. Why not? Because a gay person might be offended? What if someone thought they were gay, and acted as such, then discovered through self reflection that they were not? Would their self discovery be offensive ...

Rape is a different animal. Perhaps it is best that if a girl or woman does not wish to become pregnant at any given time, then some form of birth control should be in place. There is no need to kill in self-defense if there's nothing to defend against. 8O Wha... ??? Are you serious? So all post-pu...

@Vex, Celiac is NOT rare - it is estimated that 1 in 133 people have celiac (many undiagnosed), and the rate is higher in some ethnic groups. It is also estimated that up to 25% of the population has a gluten intolerance of some kind (meaning no celiac - the villi in the small intestine don't get de...

??? :? and? that still doesnt mean anything to the majority of the planet you know. Means there is a chance that a State will have a Constitutional Amendment banning Abortions in nearly every circumstance. Yeah, and I think Oodain is telling you that the world does not revolve around the US. And fo...

MONKEY, why do you always take offense when people fail to talk about fetuses in a positive or respectful tone?? Fetuses are only a good thing when the pregnancy is wanted. If the woman doesn't want to be pregnant then sorry but it is a negative thing and she shouldn't be expected to be nice about ...

@b9, You will find that the discussions about abortion on PPR tend to de-evolve quite rapidly, with ridiculous claims being made on both sides of the argument. (ie - things like a fetus is nothing but a gelatinous blob with no inherent value, or that a fetus has brain function that would allow it to...
