Have you ever traced back the etymology of a word as far as you could, by looking up the root words as well until you'd gone as far as that dictionary would go? It's really quite fascinating... Uhm, yes... *sheepish face* Doesn't everyone do that? YMBAAI you're constantly puzzled that everyone does...

You might be an Aspie if you make strange noises at airports... Speaking of airports... I can't believe no one in this entire thread has mentioned anything about airplanes... YMBAAI you aren't afraid of flying, but hate airplanes anyway... being trapped in a sealed environment with recirculated air...

YMBAAI you have compiled 31 pages of your personal "You might be an Aspie if..." examples. (Don't worry, not posting them all). :P YMBAAI those 31 pages would actually only be about 10 pages if writing nicely didn't take so long & hurt your hand. YMBAAI you find yourself conducting along to musi...

Ahhhhrrrrggggh! (I just got my computer back from the shop, so I resisted throwing something at the screen, but had to at least do something !) This has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. The post examples shown there were pretty bad, yes, but some I'd guess were taken totally out...

...if you are frustrated when you argue with someone using logic, verifiable facts, and reliable sources and they still insist that they are right cause they rely on intimidation, or assertion, or conventional wisdom as foundations for their point. YMBAAI You have footnoted a forum post with refere...

Ugh so many things I want to respond to on the forums right now, but my good computer is in the shop & I can't type properly on this keyboard because it feels weird. YMBAAI you can't type because it's a strange keyboard, and feels "weird". :) LoL - Well it does ! The keys require more force to ...

You are in total obsessive lust with one man who you will never meet. Not STRICTLY an AS trait, but if it's real intense and you know everything about him instead of just watching the shows and films he's in, THEN it can get aspie. Are you perhaps a teenage girl? *grin* (No offense intended...just ...

Ahhhh, woke up early with insomnia. Got on the computer & it died. (This is my backup). Good computer always dies on Sunday when my favorite shop is closed, too. Anyone wanna come fix it? *sigh*

You might be an aspie if... you go to the dentist for a cleaning and they take x-rays first. The weight of the lead vest they put on you feels so good, you consider asking if you can keep it on for the rest of the appointment. I'm still reading through this thread & no way I can actually reply ...

Welcome aidysmum! I don't have kids, though my best friend has an AS child. So, I don't have anything especially wise to say there. But, I can give you a quick note from the opposite side. I'm 35 & only found out I have AS a few months ago. And I was thrilled. Haha. It explained so much. But, I ...

Rawr-Meow-Zoom! I'm not really a dog person, but I like the "Woof!" It sounds huggable or something. (Unless you're an anti-hug person, in which case I'll just say "Woof" back & you will probably laugh - I don't do very good animal noises). Your greeting got my attention, so just thought I'd say...

Thank you all very much for the welcomes. I'm stupidly excited to have somewhere I can ramble about bizarre topics & someone might actually be interested. Hehe. Hello RedRaven ! I'm glad you found the right combination of meds. I've known a few bipolars and I have an idea of the battle they have...

Hey all - Originally signed up for the forums just to ask a single question & haven't really done much reading until today. Wish I had done so sooner - been laughing my head off, smiling, nodding in agreement, etc. with so many things. I will probably end up responding to about 500 posts & r...

You're asking the wrong question... "Would people like to see a film by an autistic director?" How about "Would people like to see a film by an artistic director?" "Would people like to see a film that's good?" "Would people like to see a film by a neurotypical director?" "Would people like to see a...

Hrmm... interesting. I don't recall my games looking any more choppy with the flat screen, but with funky eyes that see things I'm not supposed to be able to detect... a tiny delay might cause a problem, even if it's not visibly different. Thanks for the help - I'm continuing to look into all these ...

I have seen that mentioned as a possibility, but don't know much about them. Will have to read up on it some more. I'm unsure if that would help since, best I can tell, it's more of a motion issue, but I'll certainly check out some more information.

Thanks much for your help :) RR
