Because he wanted to create humans, not pre-programmed robots. but why is 'human' more valuable in itself than 'robot'? I can't work out why autonomy has this intrinsic value, or at the very least, how on earth it's worth the massive, massive, horrific, incomprehensible amounts of agony that have h...

What do we NEED evil/suffering for in the first place?.....It seems like alot of people (many atheists included) think life would be boring and empty without both. This seems to stem from lack of imagination.....I can think of an infinite number of "goods" and pleasures I would never grow weary of....

Personally I don't get religion. My main problem, aside from problems I have with specific religious dogmas, is that I don't think we're the sort of beings that can know the things religion offers explanations for. Practically the only means we have of knowing about the world are experiential, I don...

I feel like my voice is really wierd. It changes a lot, sometimes it's high/feminine, sometimes it's more low, sometimes it's quite childlike. I always talk quite slowly. Sometimes I pronounce words very exactly, sometimes it's more colloquial. So yeh it's wierd. What's yours like?

I've found a lot of opportunities to socialize and make friends. I still have some anxieties regarding socializing but overall I think I've done well. The biggest problem for me is trying to manage the work - I procrastinate a lot and it really stresses me out and depresses me sometimes. But overall...

It's a lifelong disorder, and if anything, it gets harder as you age rather than the opposite. Social expectations just increase exponentially as you develop, and any improvement you do gain, is still overtaken by the societal expectations. I don't agree with this. It's definitely gotten easier for...

I think it's good it's all one condition now, but the criteria seem a bit stringent. Do you have to have all the symptoms even as an adult? I imagine a lot of autistic people exhibit 1a, b and c when young but over time learn to improve at social interaction to the point where they're at least not '...

I've come to uni and I really don't miss anyone. Then when I go home for the holidays I don't miss people from uni either. The feeling just isn't there. Which I guess is a good thing.

I told one girl with AS and one guy who'd worked with a lot of autistic people and they both said they suspected I was before I told them. So people who are very familiar with the signs seem to be able to tell.
