I really can't see what's so interesting about "OMG is she pregnant!" "Oh wow did he/she do that?!" though

I myself REALLY hate this, like whenever I'm waiting outside my English class if my teacher's late among all the others in my class, sometimes people go "Alight mate? ^^" even if they don't know me too well, which is bad enough, but when I try to answer, the words just don't come out right, hell, so...
