I live in West Sussex and I have filled in this survey - thank you. "... The aim is to make suggestions for improvements to the accessibility and quality of mental health services received by people with autism in West Sussex...." I'd want to hear what these existing(?) MH services are... because o...

How does one find a co-author??? I found one easily for my last paper, but he was tailor-made. There doesn't seem to be anyone for anything else I want to do. I'm afraid I may not be very helpful with that one as I've never been an independent researcher... :? However, we do co-author papers with e...

Are there any autistic people who have successfully gone through and gotten a PhD in psychology? What about those who have studied it at university? How have you/they done? What's really frustrating for me is I want to do research, but you need to have everything approved by an ethics committee to ...

Missed the date by somewhat, but was it a success? I do know she is very keen to get more females certified, and from what I understand, does some work with NAS Surrey and even the SABP MH/LD Trust (Don't SABP send their possible ASC-ers to SLaM, though?) along with Sussex Partnership. Oh, and was ...

Oh dear, I'll get it right eventually! Heh heh :-)

I've added UK to the title, and it would be great if you can come.

Hi all I'm reposting this as I accidentally put it on an old thread. This may be of interest to people in West Sussex - I'm part of Asperger's Voice Self-Advocacy Group in Burgess Hill, and at our meeting next Thursday (25th July 2013) we have a guest speaker - Bettina Stott from the Autism Spectrum...

>I find a good example to be how do you react if you're waiting for a bus and its a minute or two late? I think it is totally unacceptable when buses are late, I get really anxious, I worry that I've missed it or that I'm in the wrong place, and I get stressed about being late. >Do you have things y...

1. Reading pop psychology books on body language and 'how to win friends and influence ppl' or whatever it is. 2. Copying other people in same situation 3. Erring on side of caution and being very careful not to offend anyone (which I later discover doesn't work because my idea of not offending some...

What effect does it have on you when people expect you to engage with them while you experience sensory overload? 4. What 3 things do you wish people would understand about you when you experience se...

I don't think there's anything anyone can do to avert a meltdown for me, they just... are. It would be a bit like saying, "we want to stop our son/daughter burping". Delay it, reward it, punish it, it's coming. :)

Thank you for posting the list, I don't think I can find anything that doesn't apply at least occasionally. It's nice to fit something at last, and have something that reminds me, and shows others, that I'm not bullshitting. :)

If you have rung several tradespersons for quotes and selected one (or none) you do not need to contact the unsuccessful quoters and explain that you aren't going ahead with their quote and give convincing reasons why to spare their feelings, it is ok to just not contact them again. From my new...
