Dogs are typically more "outgoing"/social animals so I don't why I like them so much more than cats. Probably because I find them cuter and smarter and more loving (no offense to cat-lovers, just from personal experience I prefer dogs!)

I have to force myself to go to parties (either because there are people there I care about, or it's "networking" for school or volunteering) and mentally psych myself up for it, because it's really not fun for me. I hate to admit it, but I also need at least one drink to feel less stressed/nervous,...

I don't have any friends. None. I am "married" (common-law), and I have 3 kids. Outside of them, I have the minimal interaction possible with my wife's friends and my co-workers. My wife tells me this is sad, but I simply don't care. I am not sad about having no friends. I was... But shortly after ...

I just posted a question about what everyone's ideal day or dream vacation would be like. But what is your actual daily life like? How much time do you spend on your special interests vs time at work/school vs other activities and sleeping? Do you spend a lot of time with people or are you alone mos...

I have trouble wearing makeup because it makes me itchy, but I don't wear it except when my mom pressures me to because I think it's lying not to show your REAL FACE to the world....I mean, who would know the real me? I use mineral makeup because it's non itchy and actually improves my skin. I neve...

Everyone I know, AS or otherwise, listens to songs over and over. I don't think it's an exclusively AS trait. Really? Everyone I know IRL seems to think listening to music over and over is annoying. Same here. When I had roommates it would drive them crazy, even if I was using headphones, they'd lo...

At a barber I usually close my eyes. When I visited dentist as I was child, I preferred to look at the bright lamp above me. Now I prefer to close my eyes and concentrate on feelings of some another part of my body, usually hands, to forget, what they are doing with my teeth. Rarely, when I need to...

In order for a vacation to qualify as a real vacation for me, I need to go somewhere where the main activity is no activity. I spent three days recently on the coast of Maine. We did nothing but sit, talk, eat, and watch the ocean for three solid days. That, to me, is a real vacation, and beats a w...

I don`t like holidays, I prefer staying in familiar surroundings. I think the last holiday I took was 20 years ago. Yeah, I definitely prefer familiarity and routine, but I also go to school far from my family and I miss them so I make it a point to visit and vacation with them as often as possible...

When I speak, my choice of topics and vocabulary make people think I'm quite intelligent, but my actions and demeanor and awkwardness in "small talk" make people think I'm really spacey or ditzy. I have had many "you're on your own little planet, aren't you" type comments, or hello, are you there?
