I am not a prohibitionist who violates your "trend" but I know several people who are/do. Maybe they would fall into your "idiot" category, but they are generally otherwise intelligent and considerate people who simply cannot agree that legalization (of let's say marijuana) would be good for society...

bicentennialman, thanks for reminding me that it's not an AS thing - it's human. Okay, so my "overwhelming" is someone else's normal. Anyone else would still be reacting the same way if they were feeling what I was, and it helps to recognize that myself even if I can't possibly go around telling eve...

I'm still in the assessment process, not officially diagnosed, but a lot of AS symptoms really resonate with my experiences in life. Two symptoms I've read about that I *didn't* initially identify with are meltdowns and hearing things too literally. Of course I've had my share of emotional breakdown...

I don't *want* to bring humor into it - sometimes things I say that I don't mean to be funny are taken that way. I just meant, I'm going to avoid saying anything that usually ends up being taken that way. Like, I have a habit of pointing out things in the situation that are opposite to everyone else...

My grandfather went into hospice yesterday and my grandma is having a really hard time with it. My mom says the doctors think he will pass in the next week or two. I feel very badly for both my grandparents, of course. But even more than that, I feel a huge spurt of social anxiety. I hate social occ...

I'm in Washington - Olympia specifically for the next 2 years at least, though I just moved down from Seattle and still visit the city frequently. I would be interested in meeting other PNW aspies....I've never met another aspie (that I know of), I think it would be interesting and maybe even reward...
