Thanks for your responses and for listening. It gets me thinking. I have a few things planned for next week. I am going to talk to my DDs therapist that she sees every other week and also the school therapist. There is a school therapist so why not use them right? There is a possibility something ca...

Well. I feel for you. I'm sure your frustrated. Are there any local advocacy groups that can help you? Any groups that provide free services in your area? I've had my share of problems too and I have to pay out of pocket for some of my DDs therapy etc. Our insurance is kind of crap here and we pay f...

It sounds like you will have to find treatment in the US.

My vote: Pull her. Some of the things you mentioned are common anxieties, that kids can work through, but others seem like a complete miss-fit. The work load is too heavy, the discipline too rough, and the teacher already has decided what your daughter is like. There are just too many things to wor...

Hi DW mom, Thank you for responding. I'm not ready to pull her. Not yet. I want to make things work for her. I am going to start looking at other schools though. She does have an IEP. I am not shy about calling an IEP meeting if I have to. It's crazy because this is supposed to be a great program. W...

I knew there would be some bumps, but I am an eternal optimist and hoped they would have read the document and been ready for him on day one. Yeah, right. I too hate the beginning of each year. I tell everyone. "Time to train a new teacher." I really dread the thought of all those teachers when he ...

My 5 year old started kindergarten last Monday ( the 15th ), and things are not going well at school. She's in a class that is supposed to be for high functioning children. It is grades k to 2nd grade and there are 7 children. One teacher and two assistant teachers. It is an integrated class. They d...

As a child, I was outgoing with everyone. I was very "in your face," and I was overly affectionate and would just talk to everyone or hug people I liked all the time without any social boundaries. Ever since late childhood, I've been outgoing only with people I really am close to or really like. Wh...

My DD has been diagnosed with PDD-NOS. She is almost 5 1/5 and about to start kindergarten in a class for children with high functioning autism. Some people have said she will probably wind up with an Aspergers diagnosis one day. It's out of topic but I am curious. Is PDD-NOS considered more or les...

Interesting. Well I am NT and I'm pretty shy. I can make small talk easily and I'm friendly but not in big groups of people. I was a very shy child. So much shyer than my DD.
