I know a lot of people who don't have Autism do the same thing, so it's definitely a normal habit. It also depends on someone's personality; if they're more shy and stuff they will likely do the same thing while someone more outgoing talks to people more easily. This isn't strictly labeled to autist...

I have made tooonnnss of good friends though like interests. In fact, pretty much all my online friends were met through games, and some I get a long with a lot better than others.
