Horribly. I am constantly falling into / onto things. My legs are 90% bruises... And even drinking water is an issue, have the worst coordination ever not spilling it all over me. Thank god for straws. Hehe. But I think it has much to do with attention span, never much mind what I am doing. I thoug...

I am the princess of clumsiness, honestly, I can fall down anywhere for no reason at all, I can fall up stairs, god help me if I try to do anything remotely athletic! :) It is just not a skill that I have. For one thing, people insist on throwing objects across the room, and I have always been horr...

I've debated on commenting on posts regarding age and looking younger because I don't want to come across as conceited but I think I'm in good company. For the most part, I enjoy looking much younger than I am and I attribute much of it to my youthful attitude and love of life (plus, I've taken good...

I think a lot of the negative self talk is left over from having a mom who was very critical and disappointed in her "freakish" daughter. I didn't realize how much I unconsciously resent some aspects of how "different" I feel and the accomodations I need to make for that. I just wish I didn't want ...

Another thing might be to have your inner ear checked out. Problems with it often lead to issues with balance. I'm certain I have vestibular sensitivities but I've been this way my entire life and no dr has ever really bothered to investigate the cause. I have terrible motion sickness (although I l...

Last month, I stapled my thumb. Bravo! At least our clumsy episodes are creative, dynamic and entertaining. I'm an expert at falling and can rescue myself with some odd acrobatic moves. It's not always pretty but it adds flair to the performance. If only I could step out of a fall into a roundoff b...

I went out this evening and someone had to prevent me from walking into a glass door. Then the nervous laughter came along with a dizzy spell which kept me from walking a straight line out of the restaurant. I could see the reflection of the people starring at me as I exited stage right. Whatever. I...

I get tired of people who know I'm clumsy but insist on pointing it out or asking, "why are you so clumsy?" or "you should be more careful". Very helpful input. My dad treats me like a total a**hole because of my clumsiness. I recently dropped an ice cube tray accidentally while filling it up, and ...

I just called my therapist, (who doesn't really "believe" - or more likely understand what aspie is - he's old school) and he assured me that this was a "one time thing" So we share the same therapist, I see. I'm so sorry you're going through this and I can completely relate. I don't know what advi...

Clumsiness is one of the more common traits, and I'm no different. I'm always dropping and spilling drinks. People tell me I walk funny. My shoulders slam into door frames when I walk through doorways. (How do you miss a doorway?) I once broke my foot after tripping and falling down three steps. I ...

It makes me so sad to read your story. I hope some day you'll feel that this situation is due to your father's limitations and not yours. Parents are supposed to work to understand their children and accept them regardless of whether they understand them. It sounds like he isn't able to do that, an...
