I wriggle my toes to go to sleep. I don't notice I do it, but the cat does! Thanks cat for bringing my oddities to the limelight.
I pick the skin at the sides of my finger nails. I never thought of these as stimming, but then I am only just realising that I'm an aspie. |

| Wow, are you really only 11? You are so articulate and get everything across so clearly. Do you have asperger's? I don't know, probably. I understand your frustration at not knowing why you don't fit in to the world. I am 34 and am pretty sure I'm an aspie and it's driving me nuts. I can't stop obse... |

Thank you everyone for the replies.
I am trying to get in to see my psychologist to get help for this and to get a diagnosis.
So glad that I'm not alone in this. |

| Arghhhhh! This is just a vent, I don't expect answers. So I am slowly coming to the realisation that I am an aspie. I have a dd15 (NT?) ds6 (mild asd) and ds 4 (NT). In particular, ds4 is driving me f@#king nuts. He does not leave me alone. He is all over me most of the day, touching me, kissing me,... |

There is a thing called "Leaky Gut Syndrome" that is supposedly linked to autism.
It seems that an awful lot of asd people have stomach problems.
The behavioural change in my son may be because he is no longer in constant pain. I don't know, but it works for us. |

| My ds is 6 and is mild ASD. He was constantly complaing of stomach aches and had alternating bouts of diareah/constipation. His behaviour was appalling too, constant meltdowns, hitting out etc. I put him on the gf diet, but didn't go c/f. Within a week his stomach was feeling heaps better. Within ab... |

| Thanks Verdandi. Did some of those online tests and am an extreme systemizer. Some of the questions I had not consciously thought about before, but made me laugh realizing that they were things I do or think! I guess the answers are becoming clearer to me! I thought that knowing what was wrong would... |

| Thanks again. Yes I do realise the importance of seeing someone who specialises in autism. It took 2.5 years to get my son diagnosed, and a team of various specialists. Soooo frustrating. Will take those online tests and report back later. I have always known there was 'something' wrong with me, but... |

Thank you! I'll read up a bit more and think about getting a diagnosis.
It's kind of nice to not be alone!
How do thers cope with a lack of empathy for others? I have appropriate responses for situations, but have no feeling about them, unless it has happenned to me before. |

| Hi I'm new, and a 34 year old married with 3 kids. My ds6 has been diagnosed with mild autism. This has been plaguing me ALL my life, and I have a need to find out why I am the way I am. As a child I would only speak to family members - anyone else I was mute till about age 6. I had an advanced voca... |
