| People in general seem to have a lot of "unwritten" rules about how everyone is supposed to act. Personally, I don't tend to pick up on the subtler signals and body-language that most others seem to understand intuitively. That means I/we have to work harder and ask more questions to try ... |

| Well, the human population does need some trimming... Better to address the psychological-problems of the ones who endure mental-suffering than to promote ways to harm the body which could result in permanent life-long hospitalisation. Yes, it is ideal to make people truly stop wanting to commit su... |

| There's a PC game called "To the Moon" that has a character that has autism. They don't flat out tell you but they drop so many obvious clues telling you that she does. It's a very good story game and it's short, around 4 hours. Autism isn't the main focus but it plays a part in the story... |

Understood. And as someone else mentioned, the recording option might not be the best. :/ I only wish you luck in helping him, and him luck in getting out of this mess. |

I've never really found such. The closest I have is this anime/Light Novel called Haganai, but even then, all it did was vaguely imply its characters had autism.
I'm interested to see if there are anime or games that even fairly, clearly touch on ASD. |

| Social awareness and interpreting social cues as well as deciphering NTs' intentions will always be something that we as ASDs will always have a severe problem with. Well, so long as various cultures keep preferring to yell instead of being constructive about our mistakes, yes; that will always be ... |

| Video chat has nothing to do with what Fnord suggested, Meerkat. I'll translate his suggestion to easier-to-follow steps: 1. Get a video camera. One that can record at-least-decent-quality video and sound. 2. Be physically close enough to your friend to use that video camera, and record the abuse w... |

| Considering the benefits, I'd say it's not wrong at all. With gene editing, we could make it so that no baby dies early due to some genetic disease. We could also create more geniuses, which would only help advance human society in at least some ways. As for the inequality issue, I guess that depend... |

| Considering how autism can be in people around the world, and how different those people can look, I believe there is no distinct look for autists. The cases you mentioned were more than likely coincidence; some people just have the same sorts of physical features, regardless of neurology. It applie... |

| Well, from what I can tell, it's a combination of things like culture, upbringing, and the level of social intuition you have. Being on the spectrum means your social intuition will leave a lot to be desired, meaning that even with a lot of experience, you may struggle to learn from your social mess... |

If this were you speaking in front of a physical audience I was a part in, I would stand up and applaud you at the end of the speech.
Very well-written, good sir. Every point struck close to home, for me. |

| Lot's of good points. It is the big sticking point, that we actually need more empathy than a lot of people, but that we aren't always good at showing it ourselves. It has concerned me, that we may actually drive each other nuts, by not seeing how upset the other autistics are in difficult civic di... |

| Funny, I have been throwing around such in an idea in my head for a while now, as part of a little worldbuilding project. Though it's a country that would mainly benefit those on the higher-functioning end of the spectrum. I imagine that it wouldn't be too different from a real country, except for s... |
