Just trim or shave the sides. Shaving it all off will produce an itch like you might have never felt before! I wouldn't wish that itch on anyone.

Yes, I feel the same as you. I still have trouble with it. Luckily, my husband does not care either way. What I found to be helpful is to go to the gym regularly. That way, I feel as if I need a shower when I get home. Shaving my legs is something that can be done nearly any time, but I have issues ...

I'm failing to see why the uproar. If it's about the use of school for a prayer space, the school can simply say no to using the cafeteria, and the students find another place to pray in private. The other issue people seem to be having is the segregation of menstruating girls. If they knew anything...

Please don't lump all Muslims together. The people who did this clearly did it out of malice, not religion. They hijacked my religion, and I want it back.

Interesting...so people who lurk, reading the forums, and then sign up finally, but have nothing to say yet, we should get rid of them? That's rediculous.

In Islam, we are taught that before we pray, we have to ritually clean our bodies, including mouth and teeth. For that we use what is called a Miswak, which is a stick from a tree that when frayed at the end results in looking liek the bristles of a toothbrush. The company can package them in flavor...

I hate shaving because I think it is pointless. To shave properly, it would take me 15 minutes in the shower. Wasted time. I understand it is a social norm, but I can't understand why. Luckily, my husband does not care if I shave.

I have asked someone if I was pretty, but I'm not so sure they were being truthful. They said yes, but I'm not sure.

Agreed, if they are given permission first. Sometimes it can be for medical reasons, or sometimes we forget that a stim can be a sign of excitement, Shouldn't we celebrate a stim as well?

This revolution in thinking is coming from all of the years of hard work in the people with disabilities movement. It is called the "people first" approach. I like it personally, and continue to tell people about it. I am not epileptic; I am a person with a seizure disorder. I am not Autistic; I am ...

I am originally from Seattle, Washington, but moved to Champaign, Illinois when I got married. I have started a blog here on the site...
