Scary, isn't it? I mean we think we're making rational selections but the unconscious, subliminal stuff makes a mockery of that every time. I think that is a very good point and something worth thinking about. I fought against the subliminal and gut feeling in my last relationship and suffered for ...

I These days it's just a few women I show affection to.....and there's always something unconventional about them, so I guess they remind me of the old days. I've often noticed that a lot of my Aspie traits seem to vanish when I'm with the right company, and this is the most noticeable example I ha...

It's best to hear it, with her soulful voice, but in the meantime-the lyrics alone can help...perhaps. "Set Fire To The Rain" I let it fall, my heart, And as it fell, you rose to claim it It was dark and I was over Until you kissed my lips and you saved me My hands, they're strong But my knees were ...

I don't have much advice, because I haven't really been where you are- my longest relationship was only nine months long, but music can bring comfort and strength. Check out Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain" lyrics...in fact, check out her whole "21" album (its post breakup material) I just listened to...

Lack of motivation is a symptom of inattentive ADD. My son has been battling this, and meds have helped a lot. You may want to talk with an ADD specialist about this, if you come to the conclusion that this might apply to you. So it actually may be separate from Asperger's, not just a part of it? I...

Welcome Marissa :o)

I hope you benefit from all the post on here and eventually get comfortable posting yourself.

Getting feedback and simply just engaging in something outside of myself (with people who can relate) seems to be helping my outlook on life.

Take care!

I'm not sure if I'll be of any help, but I figured I should try considering I have been there. Yesterday I reviewed my transcripts from college and noticed Fs and withdrawals right alongside As and Bs. I remember knowing I needed to do the work, even being somewhat interested at times, but as the ti...

There's passive, assertive, and aggressive people. "Passive" ones think everybody else has all the rights, and they don't have any. "Assertive" ones think everybody has rights. "Aggressive" ones think they have all the rights and nobody else does. That is a great way to summarize those -I need to w...

Without it, I would have very little personality. There are times when I feel this way, but... maybe having Asperger's just brings out your personality (yet sometimes hides it). I'm hoping this identity crisis thing doesn't last forever (mine). I signed up for livingsocial recently- hoping to find ...

I rub the side of my nose to the point where I have to buy medical cream for it because it becomes raw and burns from rubbing it so much. I do it subconsciously and have made an effort to stop and have made some progress. I'm kind of with you- I haven't needed cream or anything, but there is eviden...

I've felt like I've been going through and identity crisis...since I don't know when. I tried to figure out why this was- one explanation I came up with was, when everyone else was going through there identity crisis stage as a teen I was dealing with the mania and depression that is bipolar disorde...

I "massage" the tops of my ears, rub cotton-like my jeans, finger tapping, bit the inside of my cheek....I always wondered why I rubbed my ears. I try to hide it and sometimes it is under control, but on occasion I catch myself doing it when I'm out and about.

Yeah... It doesn't sound like AS. -He's very successful (not saying that people with AS can't be...but typically in idea oriented, technical fields. Networking based fields...not so much) -He only shows interest in people when he can benefit (people with AS show interest in people they find interes...
