The funny thing is, I have never had big issues working with people before! The office is quite small and as such I find him working on the computers behind me all the time so the invading of my personal space is probably making me less tolerant of all the other stuff he does. I will definitely look...

I think there is a part of me who would like to be more ignorant about my problems. He definitely seems quite unaware of what he does and doesn't do. I'm not sure I would use the word jealous as it sounds so strong but perhaps you are right. I do wish I could fall into either of two camps - be so un...

I am interested in finding out if my position is unique. Since my manager only works half of the week, when he is not there, I am left in charge of an autistic lad, having AS myself. I have found this particularly hard. At the moment I have been particularly aware of his annoying habits. He is so cl...

I like counting things in threes, like lamp posts as they go past when I'm in a car. I used to collect broken coloured pencil leads and keep it in a small lego dustbin at primary school. I collected the balls from inside fountain pen cartridges. I was reminded of this when my mother told me my old s...

That must have been very painful. I thought microwaves work by heating up liquids so would that have boiled the blood eventually? I have heard of this woman who did that to her dog and sued the microwave manufacturer for not saying you can't put animals in there to dry their coats. Urban myth maybe?

Is it normal to not feel a thing after reading that? I suppose after spending years at uni studying human rights and reading testimonials from victims, I've become a bit numb to it all. Scrap that - I looked at the other pictures - I feel unsurprised that people could be so cruel but at the same tim...

I hardly ever drink. My philosophy is that life is hard enough to make sense without being drunk/stoned on top! We all have enough problems without adding a manmade one to our lives. I have come to realise that when I drank heavily at school maybe 8 years ago, I was not a good person. I was cheap an...

Yeah I know the feeling! Why can't these people forsee a problem?
Although I sometimes think I am the only one not in the know about important changes!

It's sheep mentality

lelia, thats so typical of men though to think they can fix everything. I read Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, and it has helped a bit to see how people tick. Although I know we cannot pigeon hole people, I realise that men who try to fix things do this because they care and love. It is thi...

Thank you for your advice. I feel very wary of taking anti-depressives because my mother has been taking them for years and she always goes on about the side affects. I am not sure if she is being dramatic or not. She reckoned she had over 14 side affects for one make she was on once. I fear being d...

lelia, Thank you for being understanding and your kind words. I live in England but I am sure there must be similar offices SOMEWHERE that can help! I think they are normally associated with the government run Job Centres that also offer help for disabled people (although not sure at this time how e...

I am wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation as me - it might help to feel a little less on my own. I left high school over 6 years ago and have a masters degree in Information Systems and a BA in political sciences and human rights law. The thing is, though I worked in computing for 2 ye...
