Hoegaandit, I wish I could have the opportunity to council my parents' on how to raise me more affectively, now that I'm 33 it's a bit late…but maybe my advice can be of help to you and other parents reading this. Obviously I can only speak from my own perspective, whether my thoughts accurately app...

All wonderful advice, thank you! I have a sorta cowboy hat, that does help. I'll do the aspie-stare, I love that! I think I may look pissed in general anyway, even when I'm not. It's not just you. This has been my experience pretty much all of my life. I wish I had some kind of advice, but at least know that you're not alone. Another thing that kinda sucks, a double-edged sword, is that I have the ability to respond perfectly in most any conversation. So, that means I could be out in left field, not paying attention to anything the person has said, though I've been responding the whole time like I'm paying attention....T...

Yes, I find myself more occupied with external objects than the person with whom I'm "communicating." That's not true 100% of the time, if I'm really into a conversation or the topic, that person will have my full attention, but frankly, that's rare. I had something like this happen the other day wh...
