I can relate. Friends have careers, are married with children, living in their own houses.... I'm living at home, currently unable to work due to SSRI Withdrawal, and learning how to live with emotions. My social skills seem to have got worse and I've got so many sensitivities that the world is quit...

I can relate. Currently, I'm on disability benefits and living at home with my parents. I know as soon as I am well enough I'll need to find a job and move out, but my CV has many large gaps in it and my knowledge is quite specialist. I dream of working and living in Asia, though have no idea how to...

In addition, I keep stuffed animals on my bed at college - they're nice to hug when I sleep, and they help me sleep better, too. I also take two or three of them with me in my bag or backpack everywhere I go. If something helps you feel calm and comfortable, then don't worry about what other people...

I understand how you feel too.
My family can't understand how much their actions can affect me. Sometimes I feel like I'm banging my head against a brick wall trying to explain things.

It helped me because it helped me understand why I don't fit in and why I have reacted so badly to many things in my life. I wish I'd been Dx'ed earlier because then maybe I'd have got help at uni and school.

Yes, I help for similar reasons -- if I see that someone is having a problem which I have some personal experience of myself, or that I've been around that issue and feel I might have some insights to offer. I think helping someone if you are in a position to help them is part of what makes the wor...

I was referred to a adult mental health team for depression/anxiety in 2006. As part of that referral, I saw a NHS psychiatrist. He mentioned that I had lots of symptoms of Aspergers, but nothing more was said. I was refered to a psychologist for CBT who constantly got angry at me for being unable t...
