I think the trick is getting the subject to be about them. My theory is that when people talk about something they care about, they almost relive it. My experience is that I let my head rule. All decisions come from there. My emotions are team players that feed into my head. I allow and enjoy muted emotions, but never allow them to rage unchecked.
