This is a bit vague for us to understand too, but seriously, if your friend is that good a friend, tell him how much the comment meant to you and simply say how thankful you are. It could be kind of insulting to say "you couldn't simply understand why it meant so much"... Like he's not smart or acce...

I've done this at work too, and had it commented to me that it's weird that I repeat instructions back to people. I read somewhere that it's okay to do that, because people want you to do the work correctly. Except, then you get people saying that it's weird and not good. So how the heck so you say ...
