Forum: School and College Life   Topic: T or F: I have trouble with Persuasive Essays and Speeches

Like the poster above said, if I can persaude people with logic, I'm fine. Otherwise, I'm generally screwed. It works both ways: I can only be persuaded by logic, so any persuasion based on emotion leaves me dumbfounded. As such, if I don't even understand pathos arguments, I'm going to be screwed i...

Only if it's a BS class. I don't feel like I learn from online classes, since it's just someguy lecturing at me. There's no discussion, and I don't really feel inclined to learn anything. I just feel like absorbing material, getting through whatever assessment, and moving on. So, I only save it for ...

I know Celsisus, to an extent, but even though I use it all the time in physics classes (or Kelvin, which is more or less the same), I don't have a feel for it. I don't know what's hot or what's cold.

No, but it probably has less to do with AS and more to do with just how busy I am. I don't have time for intimate partners between work and my studies.

I'm not really bothered by it either. I just sort of accept it and move on.

For me... I got a free pass on a lot of the difficulties because I took Latin. Latin is a dead language, so only written records are noteworthy, so mostly you need to be able to read and write Latin, with emphasis on read. If that's at all an option, take it. This goes for almost all dead languages....

Eh... I have a love-hate relationship with dating sites. Being gay, my options are.... well, more limited. It's different in that you go to places where gay men are you meet people through friends. The former involves bars and clubs, usually, which to me are even more embarrassing than dating sites ...

I've tried to use it, but I've ultimately found it to take it with a grain of salt. If the professor is more politically-oriented (esp. at my school) and/or if he's an easy A GREATLY influences his score. I've ultimately found it better just to ask for classmate's opinions on various professors--the...

To some extent, yes, but it's negligible compared to what people of color face. In order to really define racism, we must carefully define what discrimination. Discrimination is not just bigotry. Yes, some people hate black people because they're black, but do those people really explain why black p...

I'm sure at a formal level, asexuals are considered part of the queer communty. That said, the gay villages are so sexualized, it's honestly the last place I'd expect to find an asexual.

How to explian... I don't feel the word intelligence really holds water. Everyone is intelligent in their own way, whether it be socially, academically, kinesthetically, what-have-you. Nevertheless, I feel our society tends to equate intelligence with book smarts, the latter of which I can't entirel...

I won't go into the hilarious set of circumstances that caused me to go to church for about 4 months in college, but I will say this: the church isn't a politicized organization bent on melding people's minds to follow a set of illogical beliefs because a book told them to do. The Christians I met i...

I met like, 6 million cool gay people by volunteering at my university's LGBT Drop-in Centre . . . school clubs are probably a good way to meet gay people. Actually I know alot of people who use Grindr, the gay casual sex hook-up Iphone app., to meet people to go on coffee dates with. Indirect/onli...

If I were in your shoes (as in if I were a homosexual), I would try out the Gay Villages (it's a term for a night out targeted at Gay/Bi/Lesbian people (straight people can go too!), they are very friendly places and you will rarely find trouble in them, and you will find some people there to be at...

What kind of math is it? Different disciplines of math take different approaches. And why do you find it difficult to focus? Do you find it to be uninteresting or rather taxing? It will be hard to answer your question without understanding the exact difficulties.
