I have no instincts kicking in on this one :? I think that unless I have to, I'm going to just talk to him if he's talking to me, which will probably just be in a group and rarely. Thanks for the advice NT.

I used to have a lot of problems with smiling, but I also didn't want to smile. I'm a lot more comfortable with smiling now, and I usually smile when I'm addressing someone, not because I feel I have to or like I'm being fake, but because I want to. If I'm just doing my work and going about my day t...

I've done that a lot before too, but I guess what throws me off with him is that he's perfectly articulate. No mumbling, stumbling over words, or not knowing what to say, and I always try to make a conversation that will easily lead into another, even if it's just small talk - I feel like I'm pullin...

Edit: rephrasing this: If you both end up running the same, and she starts talking to you, asks you a question, and you answer it. Are you going to randomly start running on a different road from her when your conversation is hardly over, every. single. time?

Very true. I think a lot of times doctors give a CFS dx if they don't really know what's wrong but want to give the patient a name so they don't feel entirely ripped off by the dr. visit. It's like saying something is idiopathic - no you just don't want to admit you have no idea what's going on :) ~K

Verdandi, why do you say the US wrongly misdiagnosis ME with CFS? I've never even heard of ME before. I'd be very interested to learn more.

It wouldn't surprise me if I had fibromyalgia, probably used to have CFS, and I have hypothyroidism. I only have hypotonia when I don't work out :)

ME as in what the US wrongly labels "chronic fatigue syndrome?" That is "myalgic encephalomyelitis?" Just checking.

Why do you say this?

If you count being in each other's general area at various times 10+ years ago then yes, we've hung out. I doubt we've said more than hi until the past few months. He is good friends with my brother and a couple other mutual friends, but I can't imagine me coming up in conversation more than in pass...

Ok guys for real, you need to stop making me nearly burst out laughing while I'm at work!! In all seriousness though, I guess I'm not as good a judge of men as I thought. Any none music answers as to why someone would like someone they've never talked to? Maybe I'm just too logical and not emotional...

That almost made me LOL thewhitrbbit, which would've been bad since I'm at work! Dude likes you. :) While I like all the self-esteem boosting, I really don't think he likes me like that (and I'm assuming y'all mean in a more than friend way). I don't see how he could since he hardly knows me except ...

My son, his fiance, and their 9 week old daughter got evicted from their apartment. And of course, they had no where else to go... So now my wonderful room is filled to the brim with their stuff and the three of them are sleeping on a blow up mattress on the living room floor of my 900sq ft, 2 br m...

The Mayans never predicted the world would end at any point on their calendar. They do not believe the world will end of 12/21/12. I've even read articles interviewing some of them (yes, they're still around) and they are getting a bit sick of hearing how they supposedly think the world is going to ...

Also, I don't think he's autistic (though probably INxx on the MBTI), and I know he's had girlfriends before and girls as friends, so that further confuses me as to why he would be shy around girls now.

Please, DON'T say he's awkward to friends, or to his face. All that will do is destroy his nascent self-esteem. I've had girls say to my face how nerdy or shy I am, and it wasn't pretty for me afterwards. This is something I have to work on, because I'm pretty blunt and almost rude when I don't int...

Keep initiating and interact as normally as possible. Except normal for me is working off the other person. I take their lead so to speak. I can't do that with him because he doesn't give me anything to work with, which is why it's so frustrating and difficult. I'm trying to not show my frustration...
