To Laidema : I'll kill two birds with one post & say 'Welcome to WP' and work in a dialogue Ques. When writing dialogue I work out the rough outline of the scene in my head and then kinda close my eye's and imagine it somewhat visually, especially the speakers (or whomever I am using as the mod...

It really helps that I'm a foreigner. Being a French in Germany I'm kinda weird by definition. It also helps that I hardly ever go to social outings without my kid anymore. Being busy with your enthusiastic toddler is a good way to avoid too long small talk, and when you do small talk the kid is the...

I was bored to death, despised by nearly everyone, confused and depressive. I tried to convince my parents of the benefits of home schooling, but they felt I had to deal with other people. I had good grades and was quiet though, so although the teachers didn't like me much, they mostly left me alone.

As an aspie writer, I've definitely had reviewers complain about my dialogue, but they're almost never helpful as they rarely bother to explain exactly what's wrong with it beyond "real people don't talk like that". Frankly, it isn't my top priority anyway. It's not like anyone can accurately estim...

Litterature (lifelong one: reading, writing, amateur publishing), it started with classical litterature but at the moment it's nearly 100% science-fiction Go (for the last few years only, fascinating game) Computer science (made a job out of this one) Right now, ASD is pushing all that away though. ...

Well. It seems to me, both of you have issues, but he's the one yelling so you end up being the one apologizing. It doesn't mean you're the one at fault here. Your kids are 2 and 4? There's no such thing as quiet kids at this age. Even if you are very strict they just don't have the attention span t...

If you love to write, then you should definitely do so. But it is a very unpredictable line of work, so I strongly recommend having some sort of "backup" job. It might take years and many books before you get enough readers to make a living out of it. You might be successfull with one book but not w...

Hi! Like many here, I found this site looking for information on Asperger Syndrom. I'm currently in the process of getting the approval of my health insurance to get a diagnosis. I'm 28, french but currently living in Germany. I've no idea how good health professionals are with autism in Germany, bu...
