This has been true for us as well. My oldest son, an aspie rarely gets sick, but my youngest, an autie, who was nonverbal up until the past year has also just gotten to the point where he can be sick without being hospitalized. I have never heard it used that way. People outside of the community don't even know what it means. As far as people picking on gay and fat people, most people (especially NTs) are very insecure about themselves and what others think of them, and picking on peoples obvoius differences helps them fee...
