If you need a proofreader due to grammar/structure issues, finding one after you've completed the document will not be as hard as doing so now. You could try going to a doctor who cannot prescribe medication, such as a regular psychologist or an LPC. I live in Texas, too, and I think that we have many LPCs. I know we do in my area.
